The Senior Pastor’s directive that Highlanders bring palm fronds for last Sunday service indicated that the day’s service will be quite phenomenal. This turned out to be the case as there were ecstatic moments in both the first and second services when fronds-raising worshippers erupted in jubilation, shouts, jumping and praises to God for seeing them through to the last day of a 21-day solemn assembly by the church since January 4.
This glorious part of the service started with saxophonists playing a tune customary in Israel whenever a thing of joy happens. At the sound, earth-quaking shouts erupted from the congregation as the choir joined in leading worshippers in the auditorium to sing and do the dance they’ve never done before.
Members with various expectations had been charged to dance in line with their faith that they’ve got divine answers to their prayers. This brought about an electrifying atmosphere as every worshipper danced with so much energy and glee to glorify the name of the Lord. Palm Sunday couldn’t have been more practical, it was truly a Hosanna Service which left Highlanders convinced that the manifestation of their fame and glory has commenced.
What a victorious way to end a 21-day fasting and prayers! It’s expected that people will begin asking the typical Highlander: “How did you break through?” (Genesis38:29) even as an entire city will ask: “Who is this?” as they sought to know of Jesus in Matthew 21:10.
In orthodox denominations, Palm Sunday is celebrated a week before Easter, but Highland Church has now redefined this festival to the glory of God. Hosanna in the highest!!!
